Cheaf is a fast-growing Mexican company focused on reducing food waste and maximizing the sales potential of perishable products in Mexico and Latin America. Our two main products include a marketplace for discounted surplus food and a SAAS solution for retailers. As we expand our footprint both horizontally and vertically, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Mexico Country Manager to lead and manage our sales, operations, and marketing teams in Mexico. The Country Manager will be responsible for the Mexico P&L and driving the business towards profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Mexican food industry and the unique challenges faced in the market, as well as proven success in leading teams and driving business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for Mexico, targeting key food businesses in retail, bakeries, and relevant restaurants.
  • Lead and manage the commercial team in establishing and maintaining partnerships with food businesses, driving growth and ensuring strong supply for the platform.
  • Oversee the operations team to optimize marketplace efficiency, demand growth, budget efficiency, forecasting, and analytics.
  • Together with the Brand team, direct the local marketing team in brand positioning, influencer strategy, social media, communication, events, and brand partnerships.
  • Manage the Mexico P&L, driving the business towards profitability in the short-term while ensuring operational excellence across all teams.
  • Collaborate with the SAAS team in the implementation and operation of the SAAS solution for retailers in Mexico.
  • Build a strong and cohesive team culture, providing leadership and guidance to the team.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in the food, technology, or sustainability sectors.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or partnership management, with a strong understanding of the Mexican food industry and cultural landscape.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and marketing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Passion for Cheaf's mission and commitment to promoting sustainability in the food industry.
